Water Testing

Whether you're on a community water system or a well, you need to know the chemical composition of your water in order to properly address any problems. With a water test, we’ll determine the amount of hardness, iron, chlorine and the pH of your water. With this information, we can help you decide what system will address the unique challenges presented by your raw drinking water.

Water Softeners

Water softeners can save you money while improving your home laundry and dishwasher, and help reduce the dryness of your skin and hair. Water softeners work through a process of ion exchange and can eliminate calcium and magnesium from water. This will eliminate scale build-up in your water heater and faucets and make showers, laundry, and dishwashing much more effective.

Whole House Filtration

House filters can remove contaminants like arsenic and lead, and eliminate odors and unpleasant tastes from drinking water with carbon filtration. They can either be cartridge-based point systems, or large systems design to filter all incoming potable water for your home.

Reverse Osmosis Drink Water

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water purification system that utilizes a partially permeable membrane to capture unwanted particles from drinking water resulting in pure water. RO systems are generally used for drinking water only, not for water used in toilets, showers, or other household processes. RO improves the taste of drinking water and eliminates 95%+ of all water-based contaminates.

What's a Water Softener?

The term "hard water" refers to ground water that contains high levels of such minerals as magnesium or calcium. Water softeners are devices designed to reduce the amount or effects of minerals in you home's water system.

  • Water softeners work by filtering hard water through a mineral tank. The tank contains a resin bed of plastic beads or resin beads that have a negative electrical charge. During its flow through the system, the hard water that comes into contact with the resin beads has its positive electrical charge removed, which creates the soft water that is then stored for your use.

  • Over time, the water softener runs a regeneration cycle to remove hardness particles from the beads. The unit’s control valve sends a mixture of salt and water from the brine tank into the resin bed. The salt attracts minerals from the beads, and excess accumulated minerals are flushed away to drain.

  • Regeneration cycles occur at least once a week, but often more. The frequency of regeneration cycles depends on numerous factors, including how hard your water is and how much water you use. The harder the water and the more water used, the more frequent regeneration cycles will need to be. Regeneration cycles use about 50 gallons of water on average, but this will depend on the water softener system.
